Whether or not someone said that to you when you began your freshman year
at the College on the Hill, we're saying it now. Am'erst aims to be one-stop place for news, information, commentary, and discussion about anything related to Amherst College. This includes Amherst students and alumni, current and past faculty, the history of the College, her campus and architecture, and any other news-making influences Amherst has on the world at large.
We welcome your comments on stories you find thought-provoking, and we are also looking for interested contributors to help make the site even better. Please for more information on how you can become a contributor.
Some of you may ask 'Why "Am'erst"?' After much debate and a lot of bad ideas, we decided that in this case,
the simplest solution is the best one. What's this blog about? Amherst. And as the "H" is
silent (and as "thehissilent.com" didn't have a great ring to it), amerst.com it is.
Am'erst.com is not affiliated with Amherst College, the Board of Trustees, or any official arm of the College itself. Am'erst.com is created, maintained, and published by alumni of the College working independently to maintain awareness of the College and the activities of College's illustrious students, alumni, and faculty, as well as to keep readers abreast of events and changes happening on campus. The opinions expressed herein are the sole responsibility of their authors, and are not necessarily the views of the Amherst College community or of the College itself. Thanks for reading. Now get back to the goods.
